A surprisingly timely sermon from the book of Haggai

This is the video of a recent sermon I preached from the book of Haggai. It’s about a community that lived with an unfinished, overgrown foundation in the center of their city for 16 years, until the ruins just became part of the landscape. We often convince ourselves that the timing isn’t right for redemptive work in front of us because we’re too distracted with self-serving impulses. This message examines how prioritizing comfort can function like an anesthetic, numbing us to our calling to the good, redemptive work God invites us into.
